Wow…We’ve reached the end of 2019! To finish the year strong, we were able to offer an opportunity to simultaneously bring attention to our mission as an organization, as well as an opportunity for the community to come together for a great cause during this holiday season. Although we primarily fight the DEMAND side of trafficking (consumer focused), we are aware of the true lack of basic essential items for sex trafficked victims upon their immediate rescue. With that being said, we are proud to announce the Vigilante Truth: Annual Christmas Drive!
Once we had the idea in place, our team sat down and created a “registry” of items we felt necessary to provide for these individuals, such as: a duffle bag, blanket, journal, shampoo/conditioner, toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.), and more. Our original plan was to ask our community to help us fill 10 bags, which would equal around $1,000 in donations (approximately $100 per bag). We planned for these donations to come from businesses OR individuals.
We were BLOWN away at how well this Christmas Drive was received and how quickly the donations came pouring in. The hearts of the businesses and people surrounding us within our VERY OWN community showed us the real joy of the holiday season. Because of this, we were able to surpass our original goal of 10 bags, and fill 12 RESCUE BAGS for trafficked victims in our community. PRAISE GOD!
It could NOT have been done without the help of the businesses and individuals who participated. For safety reasons, we will not release the names of the individuals whom donated to the public…However, the businesses involved in our Drive include:
